I still Love Him but with someone, He is with someone too!

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I was with my ex for over 5 yrs since we were both in school...we lived together and everyone looked to us as the perfect relationship. But I split up with him because my parents would have a problem accepting him and I was having doubts about whether he was THE ONE to argue with my parents over. Very quickly, I was getting to know this other guy...he found out and very quickly got with someone else. We were at the same uni so saw each other all the time and told each other everything. I was still having feelings but thought it was because I saw him so much, so I tried to ignore it and give the new relationship a chance. However, a yr on since I last saw him and I still think about him everyday and miss him so much, like life doesn't mean anything without him. I love spending time with my boyf but its not the same. We don't connect on the same level. I havent kept in contact with him that much because it seemed like I was making all the effort all the time. Ive heard through a mutual friend that hes now living with his girlfriend. Everyone keeps telling me to move on, but I just can't. Plus my boyf is a dif religion so it doesn't look like there is a future for us due to our strict parents. Help me!

Let's see, you have a b/f that you like ok but you are still in love with an ex who has a live-in g/f plus your parents don't like either of they boys.

This is definitely a recipe for heartache.

If you want to throw caution to the winds then go for your ex--knowing that things will probably not work out for you. But you tried.

The more reasonable thing to do is to put your ex into the far back of your mind and concentrate on living with what you have. That's my advice.
