Don't Love Me Too Much

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
My boyfriend is 15 years older then I (him 45, me 30). We meet in Puerto Rico but both are from New York, I decided to return to New York and he came with me. We have been dating now for 6 months. I truly believe that I love him and he constantly telling me that he loves me. He does everything at a guy does when in love (according to the advice given in this site) However, when I say how much I love him, he says "Don't love me too much", when he ask me if we are going to have kids. I say, what for since I can't love you too much. He replys, that's right. you should not have any kids now. Doesn't that mean that he does not love me. I should brake it up or try to work it out. I'm not sure if I am looking at all the right signs of an endless relationship. Please help.

RomanceClass.com Advice
You've only been dating for six months.

This is probably too early for him to make a permanent commitment.

You might want to ask him why you shouldn't love him too much. What does he mean by saying this. If you have a good relationship he should be willing to discuss this openly and honestly. There is an old song called "Baby, Don't Get Hooked on Me" and the lyrics continue "because I'll just love you then I'll set you free."

If this is what he means, you ought to immediately consider whether you should drop him.

Good luck! George
