College Freshman and jealous boyfriend...

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
It's the first week of my freshman year, so I'm meeting many, many new people. I go to a school where 80% of the student body is guys. Im not looking for another boyfriend, just friends, but my boy friend of 4 months is extremely jealous and doesnt believe me. He lives about an hour away. He calls me at least twice daily, and i get at least two text messages from him every hour. Two days ago I finally snapped, and broke up with him. The following morning, he called me and apologized like crazy. He said that he would only text me when he woke up, and when he was about to go to bed, and that I should call him, he wont call me. Stupidly, I agreed to go back out with him. For pretty much the past month I have wanted to break it off, but didnt know how. The night I broke up with him though, I wondered if I was making the right choice. Im not ready to be tied down. He has the qualities of a perfect husband, but my love for him has pretty much died. How and what should I say to nicely get the point across that we are not going to work out, I don't want a boyfriend during school, and that I still do want to be friends? (He's very sensative, and cries easily)
