My Ex and I broke up 8 months ago

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Male
Me and ex broke up eight months ago and she gave me that whole speech about just wanting to be friends. We were together for two and a half years but she left me because she alos said she wasnt ready for a relationship. I begged and pleaded to get back with her because I loved her more than anything and still do, but she kept saying no more and she doesnt want me. She said she has feelings for me but there not enough to get with me. She would treat me like trash for a while when I was still vulnerable and still cried about being with her, so I finally sucked it up and decided to be her friend. Everything was going cool for a while and everytime we talked I felt like we were getting closer. We'd always talk about her going out and what we were doing. You know life itself. Then she comes out one day and tells me she had sex with some guy and I got really emotional. Then she told me she has a friend that she really likes and might get in a relationship with him. I was always neutral with her. I never talked bad about her and I felt disrespected because I would never talk about another female to her. Why does it seem like she likes for me to be unhappy? I'm hurting about this situation as of now. I told her to go be with that guy and that she just lost someone who loved her unconditionally. So I erased all of her numbers from my phone and got rid of everything that reminded me of her. So I basically erased her from my life. But the question really is why does it seem like she loves to make me unhappy cuz she knows when saying that kind of stuff will make us argue? Is she trying to see if I still care for her or is she just being an asshole and loves to poke at me?

RomanceClass.com Advice
When you decided to become her friend, you were opening the door for her to tell you personal things that might upset you.

She may be telling you just so you don't think there is a chance of going past friends. In that case she is doing you a favor.

Now you don't have her as a friend anymore and it is time for you to move on and stop wondering why she tells you things.

Good luck! George
