He needs time.

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
I followed your advise and talked to my ex. He left the new girl and he spends most of his time with us. But he says he only wants to be my best friend for the next six months and then we can try again. I don't like this because when we are not together he gets reckless with his drinking and last night he made an accident.
Should I respect this and wait or move on with my life? I don't want our son to be confused about what is happening with his parents.

RomanceClass.com Advice
Tell him of your concerns and tell him that you think that three months is sufficient of a break.

Do the best you can with his drinking. Maybe the accident will make him think more about it.

If after three months, he is still the same then dump him. You might also try professional counseling if you have access to it.

Good luck! George
