Does he really like me or not?
Visitor's Question from a 41-50 year old FemaleI met a friend of a friend a few months ago, and since then have discovered, through flirting, he was attracted to me. Eventually, sex happened. This person is just like me, sense of humor, and I think, views and honesty. He (weeks after having sex) came to me and was very nervous, and said he wanted more. We discussed this, both being very nervous, having been hurt before. He acted like he really cared, and asked me to start seeing him, etc. Everything was moving on, but a month later, I made the mistake(joking) that I was going to have to "back off" because I was liking everything about him, and it scared me. He then said I need to let him know, as he will also. I told him I was only kidding. He asked me to have dinner the next day, but didn't call me. I called him and left a message, no return call. Since then he still talks with me and flirts, and wants sex, but it appears to be like before. I really like him, and would like to know if he likes me. I don't have sex with him now, as I am not into the one night stand thing with just anybody, I need respect also. I catch him staring, and sometimes he appears to be a little jealous. We both are stubborn and terrified of being hurt. He is always nice, and we laugh a lot. What should I do? Did I scare him off, is it too late? He is 42 years old, as I am also.
RomanceClass.com AdviceHave a long gentle talk with him and try to get to understand each other better.
Something got things off track (probably your joke) and you need to discuss it rather than stew over it.
If you haven't already explained it to him, tell him why you arent' sleeping with him any more.
Good luck! George
