Confused

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
I'm 14, freshman in high school. I like this guy (same age i think) in my science class who sits next to me since the beginning of the school year. He used to be kind of shy* but now when i talk to him he is really nice and sometimes even a little hyper when he talks to me. We don't hang out after school or talk on AIM (he doesn't answer his phone or go on AIM but he said to leave a message once). Sometimes i see him stare at me, but we don't have any class other than science so it's hard to tell if he likes me. His friend (mine too) that sits next to him (the other side) was playfully teasing him saying that he loved me but at first he wouldn't say anything and then after hesitation he playfully denied it. He would also sometimes playfully suggest that we go play tennis (his sport) or run(my sport). It didn't sound like he was serious though and he knew that he'd win at tennis. Two of my friends thinks that he likes me but one of them isn't even in the same school as me anymore so it could be the way I've been telling the story. He's really sincere and sometimes he would ask me if i needed help.
Recently he said he might need to switch to a different science class (he said it before too but this is his last chance to switch) and he says it's for tennis. He says if it doesn't work out he might need to change his schedule. I asked his friend both times and he said he might not. I'm not sure if he's trying to get me to admit that i like him or what (i think they know!) or if he's telling the truth cuz he just suddenly brought it up one day again.

*I knew him since 7th grade but he never really talked to me much until now. He isn't that close to anybody so he doesn't have a best friend but he has friends. I'm not sure if guys share who they like with each other if they absolutely knew they could trust them.

You could write him a note if you are too shy to ask in class.

Better do this soon so he can make up his mind about changing classes. He definitely seems to like you.
