I think she still has feelings for me, what should I do?
Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old MaleMe and my ex-girlfriend dated for almost exactly 5 months (she broke it off the day after our 5 month, actually. It came as a shock to me, because for almost our entire relationship everything was perfect. We never fought, never argued, it was just perfection. Then one day at a friends house we got into an argument. Then the next day we got into another fight. I'll admit, both times it was me who really was the instigator, and I apologized thoroughly for what happened. Then, a few days later she broke up with me. Her reason: "she lost feeling for me". When I asked her what that meant, she said that it was because we kept arguing and that she felt I was turning into a different person.
One of the things she said to me when we split was "if we were meant to be togeather, it will happen". So I asked her if she actually saw us potentially giving it another try, and she said that she could see it happening. Soon I discovered that the next day she was asked out by this other guy, and she accepted. She still continued to talk to me (we saw each other in school, so it was kind of hard not to) and she still called me on occasion. For a month I sat there just trying to get over the sudden shock of it.. I still talked to her as she called me every once and a while, but it was akward at first.
Now recently for the past 3 weeks or so, she has been calling me literally EVERY DAY (except for the days that she's with her new boyfriend). She seems like she's happy in her new relationship, but she complains about it on occasion. She's gone out with me to the movies just as friends twice, and her boyfriend doesn't know that she talks to me almost daily. She tells me about the personal things in her life, and she is always really nice to me. This is where I get confused though.. I'm not sure what to do. I've confronted her once before about giving it a second shot, about a month ago, and she never really gave me an answer. Do you think that she is still playing with the idea, or do you think she honestly just wants my friendship? I want to talk to her about it, but i'm not really sure about how to go about it..
Thanks for the help.. I really appreciate it
RomanceClass.com AdviceThe key here is that she still has a boyfriend.
You can only remain friends as long as this is the case. Certainly she likes you as a friend...and maybe more than that. But, you can only let her know that you still care for her and don't go behond that. In fact, I think you have already done this.
After a while as friends, the odds are good that you will get back together. Be Patient.
Good luck! George
