He looks at the floor...

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
I've known this gut for a while now(he's a grade higher than me), and we talk on IM, and a bit at school, since we play the same sport. I'm kinda interested in him, but the thing is, I have absolutely no idea if he's interested in me.
There is one thing that bugs me when I talk to him. I'll be talkin, and, instead of looking at me in the eye or something, he looks at the floor, takes a lot of time to say what he has to say, and it's not really clear...
Usually, with other people, he's outgoing and talkative.
He'll do really nice things for me sometimes, like open the door for me or tell his friends to scoot over so I can sit down, and sometimes he'll tease me about something, but always looking kind of next to my face or something. I'm just not that sure he's into me, because I don't want to jump to conclusions.

So, what does it mean, is he shy, or is he just not interested in what I'm saying, or something else??

He certainly is interested in you but he is quite shy because he is nervous around you because sometimes boys get nervous when they are close to someone they care about.

Perhaps you can tease him into looking at you. When he is looking elsewhere, put your fingers where he can see them and waggle them and slowly move them over to your eyes. When he asks what you are doing, tell him that you love to look in his eyes. If you do it too much he will get sore so you might just have to ask outright to look at your eyes. You will be doing him a big favor if you help him out this way. Otherwise he might be this way his whole life.
