Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Malehi, i am a boy of 24 years old and i love a girl who is 16 now for past 2 years. i cant explane how much i love her,but i can say my every heart beat sings for her.she is the only harmony in my life.before she came to my life i was nothing but her existance led me feel my worth. everything was fine.i know she loves me more than i do. but things have changed from the day her family came to know about us. in early stage she assured me that nothing will chane between us. our communication was freezed. after a long duration she once called me and asked me to marry some other else if i want to see her happy, because her family is scrictly against it. i asked her,"do you love me?" she said "yes". she beged me to do what she asked. i said i cant. she cried and cried.... than the call ended. since that day it is 3 month running i have not talked to her. because i cant call her. once i read that,'if the person you love wants to leave, then let her go. if she returns then you desearve her,if dont then your love is worth less.'

RomanceClass.com AdviceI am sorry you are in this situation. Unfortunately, I am not very familiar with Indian customs. I do know that in India the family's opinion is very, very important. You shouldn't try to make her go against her family's wishes.
One thing you can do is to work hard to earn money to support her and to advance in your profession. This will help the family accept the possibility of marriage since they would like a well-to-do son-in-law.
Good luck to you in your efforts! George
