Can't Trust Anyone

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
Okay, so basically, I'm extremely paranoid and I don't really trust anyone but my closest friends and family. I'm always afraid that guys are gonna try to trick me and when a guy flirts with me or asks me out, I always assume its because of a dare or something stupid.

I've been like this since one of my "friends" a few years ago told me that a guy that I went out with only asked me out because he felt bad for me. Also because i had a best friend that went behind my back and completely destroyed my trust. I don't know how to get over it. I want to be able to open up to guys and flirt without feeling stupid because i think he's going to go and laugh with his friends about how I totally believed that he was into me.

Please help!

RomanceClass.com Advice
So you had two bad experiences in your early years. Don't let this cause you to be paranoid for the rest of your life. We all have bad experiences (and good too) but it is important not to be over-affected by them.

You need to have the courage to take chances in life. If a guy asks you out or on a date you need to accept him as being an honest person. Guess what? You may get burned again in the future, but for the most part people are sincere and you shouldn't mistrust them.

The most important thing is to not let these experiences affect your future.

Good luck! George
