how can i help him?

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
I went away to church camp this past week and met a guy that i really like and he seems like a gentleman. well, we hung out a lot at camp and then one day in the lake he asked me to be his girlfriend and i accepted. 2 days later, he came up to me and asked me "Can i talk to you alone for a few?" and so we went away from all our friends and sat down and just talked for about 1/2 an hour before we had to go to worship in the chapel and he told me that he had an addiction to alcohol. he spilled his heart out to me and told me his complete life story in that little bit of time and now i don't know wat to do. at first when he said "I have an addiction to alcohol," my stomach flipped and i got soo scared but he's such a nice guy and has no one to talk to bout this and i want to do everything i can to help him. he's only 14 and i talked to my mom about it, she told me to tell him he needs to tell his mom, but he is scared to because alcohol is the reason his mom left his dad when he was only 4. i cant get this off my mind, i want to help him through this but i dont want to get completely involved, i love him so much.

RomanceClass.com Advice
There is only one answer and that is he must tell his mother. She will get him into therapy which will help him break the habit. At his age, it is usually reasonably easy to break a habit. Although she may bring up his father, she will support him.

Good luck! George
