Awkward Looks and Shy Boys
Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old FemaleI've liked this boy for about three years now, and have been too shy to do anything about it.
Finally, a few weeks ago, my friends convinced me to send him a message, making casual talk, though I was convinced he wouldn't reply. Shockingly enough, he did, and we carried on a little conversation for a week or so, until he didn't reply.
I've heard from his friends that he is VERY self-concious, shy, and often over-thinks everything. Recently our friend groups have started to merge, so he's been spending more time around me.
Yesterday I was chatting with my friend, and out of the corner of my eye saw him watching me. When I turned around, he looked up and away quickly. I've felt him watching a few times before this as well.
That same day, we were sitting in a small group of four people, and he made eye contact with the two others numerous times, and only looked me straight in the eyes once, and slightly held my gaze before I broke and looked away. I wondered if this was because he didn't know me, but he had no problem making eye contact with my friend multiple times, and they hardly know each other. Also, he doesn't seem as talkative when I'm around, compared to when I'm gone, so I've been told.
Any insight would be helpful. Thank you very much.
RomanceClass.com AdviceYes he likes you. That's why he won't look at you directly and isn't so talkative with you. It's because he's shy like you said.
If you really like him and want to be closer to him, you will have to take the lead. Tell his friends that you like him and then send him more messages. I would be very surprised if he didn't come running to you.
Good luck! George
