I cheated, he found out, now what?
Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old FemaleI cheated on my boyfriend and he discovered, he's angry. so how can I apologize.
RomanceClass.com AdviceSo wait, you didn't even tell him that you cheated and that you were sorry - he had to find out in another way? Trust is THE most important thing you can possibly have in a relationship. Not only did you betray him in the worst way possible, but then you didn't even admit to what you had done. You kept lying to him and hoping you could "get away with it". And now that you've been caught, you want him to stop being angry with you.
I would really advise going to couples therapy with him. The only way he is going to TRULY ever trust you again is if you make a real, 100% effort to realize what you did was wrong and to change your outlook on life. Many people who are cheated on NEVER heal and it destroys the relationship. So for you to have a chance of going forward, you need to show him it is your top priority and that you're going to put time and effort into the change. If you, and he, talk together with a therapist, it will give him time to heal and you a person to help work out why you took such a destructive path.
