Liking a Girl from Work

I like this girl that I know from work and I don't know if she likes me. Then come to find out my best friend likes her too. Now I'm a very shy person when it comes to girls and I don't know what to say when I'm around them. I talk to her outside of work on the phone and on the computer but I don't know what to say when I'm around her. Its like I become speechless or something.

I have asked her to the movies but she had plans with her family so I don't if that was a yes or no. Then about a week later I asked her if she would like to do something together and she said sure. But when I'm around her she acts almost like me. We look at each other quite a few times but never really talk. I guess what my question is what do you think about this whole situation?

It's a great thing that you asked to do "something" - but you need to be more specific! Choose a movie and go see it with her. Then take her to dinner. The girl is saying yes - it's up to you to move forward with the plans, spend more time with her so you feel comfortable talking to her. That is critical in any relationship, the ability to talk and share like best friends. Work on that every day. It comes with practice and the only way you will practice is by doing it.
