Becoming Boyfriend - Girlfriend

Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old Female
I've been seeing this guy for a month now. I want to take it to the next level and actually have him as my boyfriend. He says we are in the "getting to know each other phase" and doesn't want to rush because in the past, when he's rushed, the relationships didn't last very long. How long do I wait? I'm getting in deep emotionally and don't want to end up hurt if he decides he doesn't want to date. I need advice!

Why do you "need" him as a boyfriend? A boyfriend is simply a male friend. You have that already. Do you want to hug and snuggle? Lots of friends do that. So just start giving him hugs hello and goodbye as a normal friend thing to do. You don't need titles to make something meaningful. Just go ahead and move forward with the connections that you want, without waiting for a title.
