I am very confused about the relationship between me and a friend of mine. We have grown closer over the past six months. At first he sought me out and we soon became friends. It has been a casual flirtatious relationship, but we are also both clearly attached.

I developed a really big crush on him and I thought he felt the same way. He always stared at me, smiling and getting embarassed. He called me "sexy" and looked at me whenever he did or said something to see what my reaction might be. He also asked me who I thought was hot and just flirted andlessly.

I don't see what the question is here! You flirt with him. He flirts with you. That's what couples do. So go to the movies with him! That's a normal friendly activity and you can see where it leads.
