I'm 13 and I want a boyfriend!
Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old FemaleHi! I'm 13 years of age and want a boyfriend really bad...all my friends have one. I know at least 5 boys that like me. I'm way too frightened to ask them out though...what if they laughed at me or what if people started talking about me? I really would like to have a boyfriend, I don't mean just to say i have one i mean because i really want a person to love in that way. My friends are always saying how much they love their boyfriend I want to be able to do that too! PLEASE help me!
RomanceClass.com AdviceOK let's take a step back here. If you really want to love someone you can't just grab any random guy off the street! Love doesn't work like that. You would end up with someone who drove you crazy and treated you badly.
If you want someone to really love, then take out a piece of paper for each guy that you are really good friends with and make a list of his good traits. Then make a list of his bad traits. Do NOT include things like 'cool hair'. We're talking about traits that will really have you in love, not traits that are superficial.
OK, so now look those over and decide which guy is best matched for you. Having a good match is CRITICAL for being in love. And then work on becoming his best friend. Love isn't about getting flowers or things like that. Love is about really and truly caring for someone, enjoying talking with them 24 hours a day, being happy just sitting with them and watching the sun set. That is what best friends are all about. So spend time with this guy, learn his loves and hates, share your own life with him. Start to go places with him, give him hugs hello and goodbye.
I think after a few weeks of this, that it will be really easy to ask him out, if he hasn't already asked you out!
