I really want to be just friends

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
There's this guy that likes me and I have told him that I didnt like him and want to be friends, but he keeps coming by work and calling me and talking to me online and one night he picked me up from work and we went over to a friend's house and cuddled and held hands. I don't want to hurt him at all, but I really want to be just friends. He's the one initiating everything, I just go along with it. His leave is almost up from the Marines and I really don't want to lose him as a friend. Please tell me how I can fix the damage I've done, by leading him on and let him know how I truly feel.

RomanceClass.com Advice
All you can do in a situation like this is to sound like a broken record. Just keep repeating that you just want to be friends and that you don't want to lose the friendship. Don't kiss him while you say this, either. Give him solid reasons why the relationship wouldn't work, that he's leaving soon, that you have a crush on someone already, whatever. Everyone dreams of having someone infatuated with them, but then the reality's really flattering but annoying, isn't it? Treat him as you would wish to be treated, and everything will be ok.

I wish you luck with this.
