The Trip to Florida
Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Femalemy boyfriend went to florida recently with 3 of his friends. he said he's going to stay there for 9 days. before he went he said he's afraid that i'm going to cheat on him and he said he's going to call me 3 times a day. but he never calls. i call him all the time but he never picks up the phone. when he was driving down to florida with his friend i called him and he said not to worry because he won't cheat on me because he loves me. if he loves me so much, then why can't he give me a call? before he left, he told me that he needs to get away from his family and that he wants to chill with his friends since he's always with me. is he trying to say he's tired of me? i'm really confused. sometimes i feel he loves me... and sometimes it just feels like i don't mean anything to him. i want our relationship to work. help???
RomanceClass.com AdviceIt does seem strange that cheating would be so strongly on his mind and that he'd insist on having you stay in constant contact, but that as soon as HE was in a situation where there were potential wild times that he then broke contact. Most people when they go on vacation don't obsess about this being the instant opportunity for cheating. So it sounds like he was really insecure to start with.
It's one thing to want to have fun times with friends, it's something we all need. We all need to have our partner be there for us but not the ONLY thing for us. So his wanting time with friends is understandable. But on the other hand cutting off all contact is NOT, especially with him being so insecure. Maybe his phone's not working ... I'd try the hotel and just see what's up.
