I am beginning to feel am I having the wrong feeling for love

I met this guy in my English class, at first we were very close friends. We can talk on the phone for few hours and talk a lot of personal things that he only told his brother. We have a lot in common such as cars, fashions, music etc. We have gone out to eat, shop, and movies for many times; therefore, other friends think we are dating, but he always says and thinks that we are best friends. Few days before I thought it may just take some time, but he told me that he have some feelings for this girl; he knew in high school. Therefore, I am beginning to feel am I having the wrong feeling for love. I really want to have him as a boyfriend cause he meets all of my standards, but I am not sure if I am the right girl for him. His standards are:long hair, genuine, knowledge the same as him or higher, help him with his problems, caring. How can I know if he likes me. Because he always tell me that know me is a great gift because I help him and cheer him up when he have problems and questions.

You're going to have to bite the bullet and have a sincere talk with him. Since he's not yet going out with the other girl, it's time to talk with him before he does.

Set aside some time and tell him how you feel. Say that you hope he could feel the same way because you think that he's so important to you, you don't want to lose that feeling. It might be that he's toyed with the idea, and here he can say how he feels about you. It's the only way to truly know what's going on between the two of you.
