Football player is shy
Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old FemaleHi, i like this guy in my geo. class a lot and he and i talk a lot online. the other day we had a football game at my high school and i told him i would go and see him play so i did. he was good but i had to wait untill after the game to talk to him. when i did he was shy. he isnt usually shy except when hes around his friends with me. im trying to get him to ask me out but he wont jsut yet but i think he will soon. my question is, is there anyway that we can cahnge that shy personality to make him more easy going around me. ive read mag. that tell you o talk about his life and what he likes or does but NONE OF IT WORKS. do you have any topics of conversation??????thanks
RomanceClass.com AdviceSince he is most shy around other people, my first suggestion would be to try to meet him alone as much as you can. Also, talk on the phone with him so he will perhaps feel a little less self-conscious.
Have you tried talking football with him? Don't ask him open-ended questions, but really specific questions that he will know the answer to. Once you get a shy person talking, sometimes it's hard to get them to stop. The trick is to keep trying different topics. Or, do most of the talking yourself. Shy people like to be around talkative people because it takes the pressure off of them to talk.
If he asks you out, that might improve things because he will feel the comfort of having a relationship with you. So, if you can try to get him to ask you out as soon as he is comfortable with the idea.
