Dating After a Breakup
Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old MaleI just broke with a girl and i've been talking to a girl on the internet that lives real close to me. She sounds like she is interested in me, but i'm not really sure if i should go out with her so soon. I'm just not sure what to do since my mind is so clouded, from my recent break up.
RomanceClass.com AdviceYou're wise to be cautious, you can definitely make a lot of unwise decisions right after you break up. You make decisions because of the way you're feeling because of the breakup, not because of how you would *really* feel.
So take it slow. Talk with her, be her friend, let her know you're still getting over this other person. Chat with her. Maybe go out to a movie with her as a friend, and so on. But give yourself time to heal. When you can really look at this new girl and not have thoughts of the old one, and not feel the shadow of your ex watching over you, then you're ready to move on into a new relationship. It does take time, there's no way to rush it.
