Dating at 13
Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old FemaleHi I'm "P" and I'm 13 years old. This guy I really really like asked me out on Friday. My mom says she thinks I'm too young to date. I'm a straight A student, and consider myself to be more mature then most 8th grade girls. The guy is 15 years old and I've known him since the beginning of school. My mom and dad have agreed to let me see him on an only school basis. They've already said that they won't let me go out on a date like to the movies or skating with him whatsoever. What can I do to convince them that I'm responsible and that he woudn't try anything?
Thanks,
~"P"!
P.S-I still havent told him how old he is! What about that?
RomanceClass.com AdviceFollow your parents rules and continue seeing the boy at school. After a few months ask again if you can go out on a date. Keep trying and perhaps they will give in eventually.
Telling them his age will probably make things worse, but it is better to tell them now than for them to find out later. Be prepared because they might say you can't see him at all. Choose a good time like after dinner when the dishes are all done.
Good luck,
George
