600 miles away

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I have been in a relationship for 3 and 1/2 years now, but the past 1 and 1/2 years of it has been long distance (over 600 miles) due to a job he was offered but he doesn't even like. We live a plane flight from each other and don't even have the same off days so it's really hard to see each other. Out relationship started out wonderful. We were the couple everyone was jealous of. However, due to the long distance, I'm afraid we are growing a part. Sometimes I feel I am growing away from him instead of with him. I am also afraid he doesn't really know how unhappy I am. He says he is coming home in 4 months and I am SO scared it just isn't going to be the same and if I can even wait that long. I am literally worn out from this long distance. Any advice on long distance love?

Sorry you are in this situation.

I can't see how your relationship can last much longer unless one or the other of you moves. But, you are already wondering whether the feelings are still there.

My advice is to have some detailed discussions with your boyfriend to find out how he thinks this relationship can last with an indefinite time apart. Determine yourself whether you can stand the pain of separation for so long.
