Like anything else in life, being good at something involves practice. You can't sit down at a piano and expect to be great the very first time. You also can't just read about other piano players and expect their knowledge to 'rub off' on you. You have to actually SIT at that piano, and practice, and learn for yourself what works and doesn't work for you. And over time you will get better and better at it.

in essence being shy is about being unsure of what to say or do, and worrying that others will think badly of you. So you need to practice so that it's not *scary* to talk to people, it's fun, because you've done it before and know things to say and do.

So practice with friends and family first. Just chat with them about things, try different jokes and stories on them. See what they like and don't like. Then when you go to a mall or something, flirt a bit! Think of it as an EXPERIMENT. Don't get stressed by flirting with people you actually would be interested in. Instead, flirt with just random people you come across. Be nice, be friendly. Just smile at them or say hi or whatever.

If you ever go to France or Spain, ALL the guys and girls are like this. They all flirt constantly. That's why they're so good at it! They practice tons so when they actually meet someone they DO want to flirt with, they're very ready. So make that your practice too. Flirt with the regular people you come across, and soon you won't feel shy all the time.
