He wants time to think

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
I have a question, My best friend and I just broke up a couple of weeks ago. We go to the same church. The issue he had is that I have a 3 yr. old son, and he doesn't think he's ready to be an instant dad right now. He told me that for as long that it would take to save up and buy me a ring, he'd ask me to marry him. But then, he acts cool toward me alot of the time. He even got his parents' approval of me, and he said he just needs "some time to think". We attend the same church. He said that he wanted to take 3 or 4 weeks to "think" and then he'd see how things looked at the end of that time. We've tried separating before, but we always end up getting back together. Another thing, he says during that 4 week period, he wants to visit other churches (alone) and then he'll come back to the one we attend together. I don't know how to feel about all of this. Please help. I feel like my feelings are hurt, but I just don't know since we always seem to get back together.

RomanceClass.com Advice
It isn't unusual for people to need space or time to think. If you care for him enough, you will be understanding and let him do his thing. It sounds to me that you two have a good relationship, so just be patient.

Good luck,
George
