My Ex Boyfriend is Moving On to my Friend
Visitor's Question from a 13-15 year old FemaleMy ex boyfriend and I broke up about 8 months ago and during those 8 months we've both acted towards each other the ways we use to while we were together, but never mentioned hooking back up since he would flirt with other ppl in front of me all the time.
Now when me and my girl friends are hanging out and him and the guys come, he acts like Im not even there and kind of like he never even liked me to begin with. And whats worse is he makes me think that he likes my one friend, like it doesnt even matter that me and him were once together. I just want to know if he is ignoring me because he might still like me and is just trying to throw me off, or should I just move on?
RomanceClass.com AdviceIt's very common for an ex to start dating a friend, because people date the people they know and a group of friends tends to hang out together. It sounds like when you broke up, you both went through a long break-up period that involved flirting and so on. That's very normal. But you are broken up, after all, so it's of course expected that he started to think about dating other people.
If he ignores you when his guy friends are around, it's probably a macho thing, to prove that he's not being controlled by you. It's always sad when people feel they have to change their behavior based on who is watching them, but it's one of those facts of life that some people do. I would ignore how he acts when he's "putting on a show".
As far as him dating your friend, it does seem like a sign that he's over the breakup and moving on with his life. I would do the same - find yourself a new boyfriend who is really good for you, and enjoy life!
