Give it time

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Person
Me and my ex were going out for a year and a half and four days ago we broke up, we used to fight all the time over stupid things because i took him for grandted, i thought he would never get tired of me, but i love him deepely and so did he. the day he snaped and desided he didnt want to deal with my yelling was ten days ago and all those days he kept treating me like crap, because he said i always used to, i told him ill change ( wich i have) now i understand what i did wrong and i changed it! but on top of all the arguing his friends wanted us to break up, and he just got his licence, the day we broke up he acted fine but that night he called me crying saying he was sorry, and i said "you didnt want to break up did you" and he said" well we kind of already did so its to late," then we desided we needed this to take a brake, and i understand that i just want to know if i will get him back. We havent seen eachother since friday and its wendsday , we are on spring break, so im wondering what will happen when we go back to school on monday? We were like the married couple in school and he was always their for me,i just didnt see that. but now i do! i talk to his mom and she says we just need time, but u know how it is, i want him back now!! but i cant force him,

His mother is right. Just give it a little time. Talk to him whenever it is convenient for both of you and remain his good friend. He will probably want to get back together again soon.

Keep in mind that you can't change yourself overnight and that if you do get back together that the same old issues will probably surface. Work hard on preventing this from happening.
