Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
Hi, my name is j*.

I have just moved school and there is this girl i like, i will call her "the girl".
I am too shy to go and talk to her and i do not know her at all, i just know it would work.
all i want is a gilr who i could go and talk to about delicate issues and someone who likes me as much as i like her.
I need to become less shy and make a friendship,i know, but i'm too shy.

He who hesitates is lost.

This means that if you do not build up some courage and do something you will have gain anything. Everyone is shy at first. The trick is to get over the shyness.

The way to do this is to learn people's names and start saying hi to them. Imagine you know Sue... whenever you pass by her say "Hi Sue" and give her a big smile. Same for other people, boys or girls. This will help you get over the jitters. Most people will smile and say hi to you. There will be a few who look at you weirdly-- those you don't want to know anyway.

So you can do this with the girl you like too. Once she starts saying hi to you then you add "How are you doing" and she will say "fine" and you say "great" and smile. Pretty soon you will comfortable enough to approach her for a conversation.

This takes some time, but it is well worth doing.

Good luck!
George
