we were great together till the commitment thing came up

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
a follow up to my previous question. I know he is stressed with school too, and maybe i did want to spend a lot of time with him, but i hadnt seen him in 2 months and really missed him. But is there a way i can ask him if we can try again, and all i want to be is the one thing in his life that is hassel free?
Also we were great together till the commitment thing came up, but if i took all the pressure off of him and gave him space would he eventually come around?
