My best friend is convinced he likes me but I'm not sure, his signals are too subtle
Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old FemaleI'm 17yrs old and in grade 11. I've known this guy since the beginning of the year and i've always been quite intimidated by him (or attracted to him?), and as the year progressed I grew feelings for him. He's been hanging out with my 2 friends and I at breaks since about June/July, and he's in my geo class in the row opposite me so it's no mystery why I've started liking him. The trouble is he started hanging with us cause he was interested in my friend, and now they've been going out for almost 2 months, and going strong! The thing is, before they started going out it seemed like he may have liked me too, but this is the thing I'm not sure of. He used to flirt quite a lot with me, but I think he only does that cause he could see how uncomfortable it makes me(he finds it very amusing), but now that he's going out with my friend, he's toned it down quite a lot. He says certain things sometimes that puzzles me like for eg. on a civvies day a while ago (while he & my friend were giong out), I arrived in the morning and my 2 friends were with him and as i got there he said "There's my dream girl", he often makes comments like that that really puzzle me, and he's a real joker so I try not take him seriously, but I cant help but think its coming from somewhere?! A while ago my friend had a get together at her house and my best friend (from another school) came, and she kept an eye on him to see if he likes me and she told me at one point he stared at me for a long time (over 6 seconds), and his girlfriend was sitting on his lap! My best friend is convinced he likes me but I'm not sure, his signals are too subtle & he could just be kidding around cause we're pals! The thing is my friend who he's going out with has a really great body and dark skin, and I'm a little overweight, but my friends think I'm really pretty irrespective of that, but he is shallow. Do you think it's possible that he does maybe have feelings or me, but the fact that I'm overweight has kept him from persueing me? He and my friend are so besotted with eachother now that I think any feelings he may have had for me are dying or dead!Do you think there is a possibilty he does or did like me? Please help me, how do you think I could find out if does or did like me, apart from asking him directly and making a fool of myself..?

This guy you like is almost through with a friend of yours (or so you think). He is flirtaceous with you and you wonder if he likes you but you are afraid to ask him.
My advice is to keep a close friendship with him and if he breaks up with his g/f he may come to you. You could also find a friend and get him or her to ask him how he feels about you.
Until he breaks up with his g/f all you can do is watch and wait and hope.
