How can I ensure that things move at a pace that I am comfortable with?

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
My boyfriend has never had a girlfriend before. We are both 17 yrs. old and have been dating for about two weeks. The other day he told me that he thought he loved me.(I thought maybe he just THINKS he feels this way, because he's never been in a relationship before!) I told him then that I didn't want things to be that serious and I wanted to take things really slow and that was moving way too fast. It has kinda changed our relationship for the worse because I'm not sure how to react, and I've told him that. Do you really think it is anything to be concerned about? How should I react to that? How can I ensure that things move at a pace that I am comfortable with? Thanks for all your time and help! Happy Thanksgiving!

RomanceClass.com Advice
Just keep telling him how you feel.

He is probably over-reacting because this is his first relationship. Let him express himself because communication is the best way to keep things clear between you two.

Continue to let him know that you do like him. He needs to hear that or he will get confused.

Good luck! George
