He reacted to my son the other night in anger
Visitor's Question from a 31-40 year old FemaleMY boyfriend and I have been together 25 months. He is 27 (has no kids) and I am 37. I also have three kids with me 50 percent of the time (not his of course.) He reacted to my son the other night in anger and it was very immature the way he dealt with it. He ended up leaving my house that night because I wasn't sure how to deal with him. He has never gotten involved in any dispute with my kids so I was shocked as were my kids. He said he feels like a jerk and doesn't feel that he clicks with my kids. He said (with tears) that he loves me more than life and wants to be with me but needs space to figure things out. Is there hope for my relationship, or should I move on and not wait for him to figure out if he wants to be with me and KIDS?
RomanceClass.com AdviceIf I were you two I wouldn't worry too much about one incident in two years.
Like any of use, the wrong mixture of feelings at the wrong time can lead to regretted behavior.
My advice is to convince him to put aside his worries and give things another try. He obviously loves you and must care for the children if he has known them for two years now. Perhaps your kids are developing and going through changes that might catch your b/f off guard at first.
Good luck! George
