I have been in love with this guy since I was 12 years old

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
My question is probably a little stupid since i am only 17 but i need some advice and there isnt anyone else i can ask so here it goes..
I have been in love with this guy since i was 12 years old and i recently broke up with him because i listened to other people telling me that it was puppy love and i was wasting my time because i would only get hurt. Since i was little i have been taught to run from love because it only brings pain but i'm hurting worse knowing that he was there for me throught everything including my parents divorce and my best friends death. I want to tell him that i love him and i was scared but i am scared and i honestly dont know where he lives now. I know i will have to find out where he is on my own but i would like to know if you believe that love or even puppy love really is worth risking everything for? i hope my question is okay to ask and i hope you can help i need someone to talk to and my mom is a firefighter i have no siblings and my dad doesnt live with me so i hope you can help and i want you to know that this website is very nice and it's very nice of you all to take the time to answer these questions. You dont have to waste your time with my question if your busy with others because i know other people have bigger problems but thanks for listening.

Your question is as important as anybody else's.

You should tell your ex that you love him and that you are sorry you broke up with him. Try to explain why you broke up.

Love doesn't come along too often in a person's life and you should grab it whenever you can.

Be brave and hopefully you can get him back again.
