He says to act like he went to prison or he is in a coma

Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old Female
HI ME AND MY EX WERE TOGETHER FOR 4 YEARS. BUT BEFORE U KNOW ABOUT US U HAVE TO KNOW ABOUT HIM. HE WAS MARRIED WITH 2 OTHER KIDS AND BROKE UP WITH HISWIFE 4 MONTHS BEFORE HE MET ME.. WE HIT IT OFF MOVED IN TOGETHER WITHIN 6 MONTHS.. HAD 2 KIDS IN THE PERIOD OF 4 YEARS.... ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO HE WANTED US TO TAKE A BREAK.... SO WE SORTA DID... ALTHOUGH HE STILL CAME AND SLEPT OVER A COUPLE NIGHTS A WEEK. WE STILL SLEPT TOGETHER ALL THE TIME... BUT I SAW TEXT MESSAGES FROM OTHER GIRLS IN HIS PHONE.. HE SWEARS HE NEVER SLEPT WITH THEM.... WELL YESTERDAY HE TOLD ME THAT HE IS LEADING ME ON AND HE THINKS HE NEEDS TO LET ME GO... SO I BEGGED AND PLEADED. BUT HE TOLD ME HE WASNT MENT TO BE A FAMILY MAN ... ( EVEN THOUGH HE HAS 4 CHILDREN) AND ITS NOT ME THAT IF HE EVER WANTS TO BE A FAMILY HE WILL COME TO ME IF HE EVER WANTS TO SETRTLE DOWN AGAIN BUT THAT HE DOENST LOVE ANYONE .. AND HE IS GONNA BE BY HIMSELF FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE.... HE HAS DEPRESSION ISSUES EVEN HIS MOM SAYS SO AND ALCHOLIC PROBLEMS...IASKED HIM IF I SHOULD WAIT AND IF TIME WILL BRING HIM BACK HE SAYS HE DOESNT KNOW ONLY TIME WILL TELL.... BUT HE DOESNT THINK HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A FAMILY MAN. HE DOESNT WANT TO BE ONE. HE SAYS TO ACT LIKE HE WENT TO PRISON OR HE IS IN A COMA AND THAT HE MIGHT NOT GET OUT BUT MAYBE HE WILL ... WHAT DOES THAT MEAN... WILL HE COME BACK TO ME ,... PLEASE HELP

You should have no reason to doubt him at this point. Live your life as if he was in a coma and might never come out of it.

Nobody knows the future so it is impossible to say whether he will ever come back except maybe for visits.

Perhaps you could offer to pay for counseling so that he could get professional advice about his situation.
