Me and my gf were going out for abou 3-4 years...I still want to go out with her, but she broke up with me for another guy, + because she didn't think it was going well.

I'm sorry you are in this situation.

My advice is to remain a friend of hers. Call her once a week just to say hi and find out how she is doing, to let her know you still care, and to maintain contact. Be cheerful, don't talk about your relationship, keep the calls to 15 mins.

This will give her the space she needs and give you the contact you need.
