If we lived closer, I would be smitten
Visitor's Question from a 21-30 year old MaleSo I met this woman on New Years eve down in NC. We were pretty intimate that night as alcohol and the fun of New Years can do for you. It could have ended there. We decided to keep in touch. I have talked to her on the phone or IM just about every other day. i have driven down to see her once since New Years as well. When I went down we had a great time together. She was even nervous to kiss me goodbye. She almost didnt actually. Anyway, sometimes she seems like she is holding back. She doesnt compliment me nearly as much as I compliment her. I'll tell her that I like her and she'll say that I am ok. I know she is joking most of the time but sometimes I wonder. now I am 30 yrs old and she is 29. I am not one of those guys who needs to be reassured constantly of how someone feels but I have been wondering how she feels. I guess since its long distance (five hours) between us, I have some doubts and maybe she does too.
I like her a lot and if we lived closer, I would be smitten. I like her alot from afar and want to know if she is pushing me away because its not working or if she is scared. I know the obvious way is to ask her but I am trying to see what you guys think first. I have jokingly told her that I know she likes me and she will reply "then why do I have to say it?" I know there is interest but I guess I am wondering if it is worth pursuiing. Maybe I am just venting here. could you give me some guidance?
RomanceClass.com AdviceI agree that the problem is the distance.
Neither of you seem willing to commit given the circumstances.
And there not much you can do about it except go on as you have been doing and see if anything earthshattering happens like one of you relocates.
I do think you will have to ask her about her feelings one of these days. Not too soon though... it's only been 24 days since you met her.
Good luck! George
