The problem is, I only want him as a friend

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Female
I have this guy friend. We became very close to each other. We always annoy and tease each other. But lately I always see him staring at me or doing sweet stuffs to me. It really isn't normal because we used to joke around all the time. His friends are telling me that he likes me. The problem is, I only want him as a friend. They said that he's gonna ask me to the prom, but I don't want guys smaller than I am. How can I turn him down without hurting his feelings? I always catch him looking at me during exams, recitations and group meetings. I seldom get irritated so there are times that I try to avoid him. Another problem is that my bestfriend likes him, that’s why I try to avoid him. I heard him saying to his friends that he is already falling for me, how can I stop him from falling for me? How can I say that we are just friends? I keep on referring to him as “friend” when I call him but I think that it’s not working. Please help me. I really don’t want to lose him as a friend.

RomanceClass.com Advice
Give him the truth as soon as you can.

If he asks you to the prom tell him no because your bestfriend likes him and he should ask her.

Or, just have a talk with him and say that his friendship is one of the most important things in your life but that friendship is all that you want.

If you tell him sweetly and touch his arm he will take it well.

Good luck! George
