This habit is smoking pot

Visitor's Question from a 16-20 year old Male
My ex-girlfriend and i broke up about a month ago and she has picked up a bad habbit. This habbit is smoking pot. I really want her to start caring about me and i dont know how to influence her into caring. My fist step to getting her back is trying to get her to drop this habbit but I don't talk to her much since you guys told me that i shouldn't talk to her for awhile. Before I stoped talking it seemed that it made everything worse the more i brought up the subject of her stopping. Some of her friends even stopped talking to her and they know that I may be the only one that might have a chance to get it through her head that its wrong to only care about herself. I dont know what to do about her. I want to help her stop and start caring about me and her friends but she doesnt seem to want to. Could you tell me ways to help her care?

Well it's time you started talking with her again regularly. Enough time has passed since your break up.

According to previous questions you've had, she doesn't want to be controlled by you (or by anyone I imagine). So your efforts to convince to stop smoking pot will probably be resented by her.

But still you should try. Just be very gentle about it. Say things like I hope the pot doesn't make you cough. Or, ask her how she feels when she is smoking and then ask her if she doesn't worry about getting caught by the cops.

There's not a lot you can do but be sympathetic while disapproving. Not an easy thing to do.

Good luck! George
