The parents socialize and you meet people who know you have children right from the start. It eliminates the sometimes awkward moment when you announce to an interested person that you have "children". Online dateing is certainly been good for a lot of people and I would never condemn it but I think many other options lessen the chance of meeting someone who may be a preditor looking for a single mom with a child.
