Donīt Raise your Voice
Raising your voice is a way of trying to be louder than your partner - to insist on the attention. Your partner *should* be paying attention to you anyway, and concentrating on resolving the issue at hand. The conversation should already be important.
If you find yourself raising your voice, stop for a moment and take a deep breath. Say that this is very important to you, and continue. If you talk without shouting, youīll find your partner will be more ready to think about what you are saying.
