I'll always remember that night

Well... I remember clearly the day I fell head over heels with the love of my life. It was a dark, cold night, and my friend and I were sitting outside, laying down on the grass, staring up at the stars, it was a beautiful night. Out of the blue, we heard rustiling noises, like the crunching of dead leaves behind the neighbors fence. We knew the neighbors well, they had a son around my age, but he was kind of odd, and I didn't have much interest in him. Of course, it was him, he peeked over the fence, and waved to us. It was a little awkward, so we just laughed, and waved back. We went outside to the front yard after awhile. Out there he was sitting with his friend on his front step, and staring at the stars. When we walked out he noticed us, and smiled our way. We were giddy with laughter. He walked across the yard, to the driveway where we were sitting on the sidewalk. He asked if his friend and him could sit down, we said sure, so he sat beside us. It was dreadfully awkward at first, because we felt like we had nothing to talk about, but after five minutes, we got into deep conversation, and I felt like I had known him all my life. We had the same interests, hobbies, and favorite things. At two oclock in the morning he finally went back to his house after six hours, even though it felt like no time at all. We spoke like that, sitting outside on his swing alone for days afterwards. Finally one day he told me that he had never had a connection like he had had with me. I couldn't believe what he was telling me. He then told me that he would like it if we became official, and gave me a promise ring right there on that swing. Now... it's twelve years later, and I'm married to that little neighbor boy that was always SO annoying, and I still get the same giddy feeling, and the butterflies in my stomach when I look at him as I got all those many years ago. Our love has only changed in a few ways, now it is more true, and forever, and we share it with our two children. I'll always remember that night.
