I asked her out, but she said noSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Hey, george! Long time, no talk! Let me set the scene for you. A girl that I worked with last summer and I have been hanging out for some time now. We talk on AIM a lot as well. She's also really busy with various things in her life. I believe she's a really special girl and I care about her. At one point, she sent me a text saying she was falling in "like" with me, if you know what I mean, and I said the same. So, I sent her a Valentine's Day card, and on it, I asked her if she wanted to go out sometime. A few days later, she tells me that she doesn't think I am ready for a girlfriend, and I think she may be right. She said she hopes she and I could stay friends until I think I'm ready for a girlfriend, and I told her of course we could stay friends because she's one of my best friends. Here's the problem. What if I never think I'm ready for a girlfriend? Not only that, but it's February, and we both are graduating in June and going off to college in September or somewhere around there. Is it worth it to have a relationship that only lasts a few months? Or should I just stay friends? I REALLY like this girl! Thanks for your help! Our Suggestion: Definitely stay friends since good friends are not easy to find. Keep thinking of going out with her. Ask her to some "friends" dates such as walks, movies, dinner, etc. Share your feelings with her and encourage her to share hers with you. All of this will make you closer. Don't worry about graduating. You can enjoy each other until then and then the summer after your senior year can be the best summer you've had. Especially if you have someone to share it with. You should make that a priority... getting her or finding someone else to share the summer with you. Good luck! George --Your Friendly Advisors at RomanceClass.com
