20 Year Old Woman With a 30 year old professor!Suggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: Last semester, I took an intro. to history class with an adjunct professor at my university. It was obvious that I was one of the smartest people in our class, and the professor would talk to me after class. We moved beyond history and into heavier topics such as religion, philosophy of education, and family. He is 30 and single and studying for his Phd. After the class ended, he gave me his e-mail. Over the wintersession we e-mailed each other 3 times. (Also, it must be noted that he only teaches intro. classes and I will not have him in the classroom again) In his last e-mail, he suggested coffee at the campus cafe. We meet there every Monday and talk for an hour. He treats me like a peer, and I know he is interested in everything I have to say. We have similiar personalities and are very sensitive people who appreciate nature, poetry, and other intellectual persuits. Sometimes, I think he flirts with me. He will touch my arm, hand, or knee when we are talking and he always looks excited to see me when I come into the cafe. When we talk, the world around us suspends. We have each other's complete focus and eye contact. I just want to know if he likes me, and how I should approach the situation. I want this relationship to move beyond the student cafe, but I am not sure if he is interested and how to pursue him. Our Suggestion: Yes he definitely likes you. The touching gives it away. He wouldn't be touching you if he weren't interested in you. If you are up for it, suggest going to a nice movie which would appeal to both of you.
