Someone From My Past

Suggest Advice

Do you have some advice for this person?

Visitor's Question:
There's this girl that I met in freshman year. She was so stunning and I was so nervous to talk to her. She's one of those people that if you ever meet them then they're stuck with you forever. You'll want to know how they're doing 10 years from now.I wrote her poetry because I was so nervous to speak to her. There have been times that she would try to talk to me and I would always freeze up.I told her that I care about her and thought that she was special. As most girls do she smiled and said "Thank you."I never got to see her again because I moved away. After graduation I heard that she moved out of state.I was so upset because I hated myself for not speaking to her as much as I should have. She moved back last year but she's with someone and they seem serious.I want to talk to her but I'm scared that she might not recognize me or know who I am.I've always wanted to be with her but I would give anything to be able to talk and hang out with her on a normal basis. What should I do?

Our Suggestion:
You still have that same nervousness you always had.

This would make it difficult for you to contact her to begin with.

Even if you contacted her, she is already in a serious relationship and might not even remember you anyhow, as you said.

My advice is to let her go and deal with something more real.

Good luck! George
