I Can't Get Over My Ex!Suggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: I met my high school sweetheart my senior year. I was going away to college and was under the impression he was going w/me, but when it came down to it, he did not go. He decided he was not ready for our relationship and broke it off w/me. I was very depressed for months, even years after we broke up b/c he led me on many times to believe he may still have feelings for me. Now, it is 7 years later and I still find myself looking for him in the store, on the road, thinking maybe he'll call. it never stops! I am currently married to a great husband who despises my ex, b/c I think he knows deep down I still have some unfinished feelings for my ex. When my current husband, then boyfriend, and I were 6 months into dating, my ex called me out of the blue one night and we went out three days in a row, rekindling some feelings. When it was all said and done, I ended up telling my now husband what happened. It took a long time but he forgave me. I just found out my ex boyfriend is engaged and I am a big ball of emotion. I just want to kick, scream and cry and say "No, you should have married me." I know this is so wrong to think. I feel like I am emotionally cheating on my husband. I do not want to think about my ex anymore. I have tried and tried to get over it but the feelings come back. How do I rid myself of these feelings once and for all? Our Suggestion: It will do you good to talk the feelings out of your system. Tell your husband what you are experiencing and tell him you need to go to a counselor to get assistance.
