Flirtation with my supervisor - I thinkSuggest AdviceDo you have some advice for this person? Visitor's Question: A little over a year ago my supervisor and I got pretty close. We found out that we have the same sense of humor, and laughed and joked around almost daily. At the time he was separated from his wife and I am married. Ugly, I know, but it kind of happened at a time when things were not good with my husband. At any rate, we enjoyed each other's company. The flirting was simple and nothing out of the ordinary as flirting goes. We both seemed to enjoy it. At one point I told him outright that I flirt with him and he said "really"?...joking like he had no clue. He did not back off and we continued to meet, joke, email, etc. One day I was a little more than suggestive and he backed off completely. He avoided me and did what he could to put some distance between us. After a year of ackwardness, we are back to joking, playing around, etc. although not the same and I am terribly uncomfortable around him. I catch him staring at me all the time and giving me the once-over every chance he gets. I felt an honest connection with him that I cannot let go off. Do you believe that the eyes are the window the soul? His eyes tell me what he wants and I can you really be that wrong when someone looks at you that way, laughs with you that way? He makes my heart jump. I am not sure there is an answer or whether or not I will ever have closure. Our Suggestion: Office flirting can get out of hand. Especially when the two individuals really enjoy each other a lot as you two seem to do. If you are strong enough to resist strong emotions the go on flirting with him. Otherwise you are likely to find yourself involved in an affair. Why not discuss this with your husband and go for professional counseling if you need to?
