Visitor's Question: So, this girl and I have been flirting every other day (when we have class together) or even more recently, whenever we see each other. Sounds like "it's going in the right direction" right? problem is, while we might like one another, there is an age difference that really wouldn't be looked well upon. I'm a senior and she is a freshman, "whoa!" we both have summer birthdays so we are almost exactly three years apart. If she were a sophomore and one year older I wouldn't even be asking this. I would not, would not, have sex with her until we were married and I think, at this point at least, she would feel the same way about a relationship. but I doubt if we dated I could convince her parents to trust me. See, there are other girls that I could go out with probably, but they are afterthoughts, I like this certain girl. Another thing is that my friends would think it was weird if I went out with her, I know most of her friends and I doubt they would disapprove. Then you consider the incredibly different places we are in our lives, I'm headed to college, in the same city but distance isn't the issue here, she's breaking into high school, we won't be in school together next year, or the year after, or the year after. Now it seems everything says "no." But still, us, together, we work. I don't know what to do, I don't want to ask my parents because I don't know how they'd react and I don't want to ask my friends because they'd think I was weird. I don't have and ulterior motive, I just like her for her, not her body, not anything but her. I don't know what to do. Our Suggestion: As you say, there are many things going against you. But, my advice is to give love a chance. Deal with the problems as they arise and hopefully you won't have as many as you imagine. If you don't try, you can't succeed. Good luck!
