When we first started dating, my parents liked him okay and everything was fine. Now all of the sudden they have decided that he is too old for me and that I'm not allowed to be with him. After 8 months, I can't imagine this. I don't understand how my parents can tell me who to love. Now for my problem. I'm 17 years old. To me, not being with my boyfriend is not an option. I'm in love. I'm going to be 18 in 5 months and thought I could wait that long to be with him but as time goes by it's getting harder and harder to be without him. My boyfriend wants me to move out and live with him..but that would mean quitting school and hiding from my parents. And when they find me, all hell will break lose. But I just don't know what to do, I wish my parents would see how much I love him and want me to be happy but they don't, they never will. I just don't know what to do.. HELP! Thanks! Our Suggestion: My advice is to have a talk with your parents. Tell them that you want to stay with them and graduate, but that you also want to date your boyfriend. Ask them if there isn't some way to make things work out. Maybe you could agree to see him only once a week until you are 18. Tell them that at age 18 you will move out and be with him. You didn't say if you are a senior... if you are then you should not do anything except wait until you graduate (it's less than two months). Then have the talk with your parents. Good luck!
